Harriet Crawford

Harriet Crawford received a Bachelors of Science in nursing from Rutgers University, a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh, and began her career as a maternal-newborn nurse. She has experience teaching in the nursing programs at Duquesne University, University of Pittsburgh, and Community College of Allegheny County.

After the death of Ms. Crawford’s first husband, B. Blair Crawford, from melanoma, she joined the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) council and spearheaded the effort to establish a garden for oncology patients and their families at UPMC Montefiore, the original location of UPCI. She has served on the patient care and legislative committees for UPCI.

Now retired from the nursing profession, Ms. Crawford has volunteered for the Phipps Conservatory and Garden Center, Story Hour, School Enrichment Green and Growing Program, and Global Links, acquiring donations of medical supplies to needy countries.

Ms. Crawford is currently married to Tim Cunningham, founder of Daedalus Excel, and their blended family consists of three adult children and three grandchildren.
