The Honorable John Pippy
Sworn in to his second full term in the Senate of Pennsylvania, John Pippy represents the 37th Senatorial District, which includes portions of Allegheny and Washington Counties.
Sen. Pippy is the chairman of the Pennsylvania Senate Justice and Law Committee. In addition, he is a member of the senate Appropriations, Game and Fisheries, State Government, and Transportation committees.Sen. Pippy was elected to the Pennsylvania Senate in a 2003 special election. Prior to winning his senate seat, the senator served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 44th District for eight years.
Sen. Pippy is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in environmental engineering and is currently a major in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. In 2003, he served with the Army Reserve on active duty in Iraq and Kuwait as company commander of the 332nd Engineer Company. He participates on a number of boards for local nonprofit organizations, including the Heinz History Center and the Executive Committee Greater Pittsburgh Council BSA. Sen. Pippy and his wife, Kathy, live in Moon Township.
