Robert F. Slagle
Bob Slagle retired from Alcoa Inc. in 2002 as executive vice president and member of Alcoa’s Executive Council, the senior leadership group that provides strategic direction for the company.
During his thirty-seven year career at Alcoa he served as chief executive officer of companies in Brazil and Australia that were among the most significant industrial organizations in those countries and large players in the global aluminum business. Between 1981 and 1986 Mr. Slagle served as Alcoa’s treasurer during a particularly difficult time for the worldwide aluminum industry. In his final position, he was the senior executive responsible for the corporate human resource organization and corporate communications.
Mr. Slagle has served on the boards of educational, charitable, civic and business organizations in the United States, Australia, and Brazil. In retirement, he serves on several boards, both nonprofit and for profit, and does occasional consulting work.
He received a Bachelors of Science degree in metallurgical engineering and a Master of Business Administration in finance and economics, both from Cornell University, with honors. Bob has been married to Sharon Ann Lore since 1964 and they have two children and four grandchildren.
