Biography

Carissa A. Low, PhD

Carissa A. Low, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology. She is a member of the Biobehavioral Medicine in Oncology Program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Dr. Low earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a clinical internship and postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Low has an extensive research and clinical background in biobehavioral oncology. She has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and is an active member of the American Psychosomatic Society, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society.
