Our educational symposiums provide an in-depth look into specific therapies through lectures and demonstrations. These events focus on strategies to safely integrate mind-body services with traditional cancer care. Each year has a slightly different concentration. As of 2016, the Nurse Ambassador Program is our key educational initiative, focusing on symptoms and quality of life at the bedside using meditation, aromatherapy, stretching, and massage.
2016 - The Nurse Ambassador Program
The Nurse Ambassador program combines education, clinical care, and integrative medicine at the bedside. Through this innovative program, patients in the treatment areas of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center are offered relaxation techniques from their trusted oncology nurses.
