Edward Chu, MD (Medical Oncology and Hematology)
Edward Chu, MD, is professor of medicine and pharmacology & chemical biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology, and the deputy director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. He specializes in the treatment of GI cancers with a specific focus on colorectal cancer, and he directs the Phase I clinic, where early-phase clinical trials are offered to all patients with cancer.
Dr. Chu is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He received his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Roger Williams General Hospital, Brown University, both in Providence, R.I. Dr. Chu completed his fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Md.
Dr. Chu is a member of several national and international organizations, including American Association for Cancer Research, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and European Society for Medical Oncology.
