Priscilla McAuliffe, MD, PhD (Surgical Oncology)
Priscilla McAuliffe, MD, PhD, is a surgical oncologist at UPMC CancerCenter, and an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is certified by The American Board of Surgery.
After earning her bachelors of science and medical degree with honors in research from Cornell University, Dr. McAuliffe completed a general surgery residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., where she also received a PhD in molecular genetics. She underwent fellowship training in surgical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Clinically, she focuses on the treatment of breast diseases, with interests in premenopausal breast cancer, breast conservation therapy, locally advanced breast cancer and high-risk breast lesions. Her research emphasis is on pre-invasive breast neoplasms such as DCIS and LCIS, chemoresistance, and targeted therapeutic strategies for breast cancer. Dr. McAuliffe has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, as well as numerous abstracts and book chapters.
