The Mario Lemieux Center for Blood Cancers provides a multidisciplinary approach to care for people with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood cancers and disorders.

Nutrition and Diet Expertise

Our physicians, nurses, caretakers, and clinical professionals specialize in blood cancer treatment and understand that your health needs change throughout diagnosis, treatment, care, and recovery. We offer expertise in nutrition to further strengthen your comprehensive treatment.

Behavioral Medicine

The Behavioral Medicine Clinical Service, a group of experienced psychologists and psychiatrists, is available to help you and your family develop a plan for meeting the challenges of blood cancer.

Palliative Care Services

The UPMC Comprehensive Palliative Care Program includes a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive and coordinated care to families of patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Outpatient Pain Program

A multidisciplinary pain team, which includes physicians, a psychologist, pharmacist, acupuncturist, and interventional pain specialists, works with blood cancer patients on an outpatient basis to obtain pain relief.

Patient Support and Educational Services

The Mario Lemieux Center for Blood Cancers and UPMC CancerCenter offer a variety of services and educational opportunities for patients and their families, including support group contact information and access to the education center at Hillman Cancer Center.
