Biography: Ellen Ormond, PhD

Dr. Ormond, an Assistant Clinical Professor in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, earned her PhD from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in 1987 before obtaining licensure from the Pennsylvania Board of Psychologists in 1988. She worked at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh before joining the Behavioral Medicine Clinical Service at the Cancer Center in 1988. She has wide-ranging experience with the psychological issues confronting cancer patients and their families. Dr. Ormond has also taught courses at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School on topics ranging from psychosocial issues for cancer patients to symptom management and end of life issues.
