Matthew Holtzman, MD, is a surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of colorectal, liver, GI cancers, as well as melanoma and sarcoma. In addition to traditional surgery, Dr. Holtzman specializes in Minimally Invasive surgical approaches to cancer treatment. As part of the David C. Koch Regional Perfusion Cancer Therapy Center, Dr. Holtzman's team performs many specialized concentrated regional chemotherapy and radiotherapy procedures to treat advanced malignancies. His research interests include the treatment of recurrent cancers, regional radiation therapies, and novel treatments for melanoma.
Dr. Holtzman received his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn in 1999, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. His residence was performed at Boston University's Department of Surgery in Boston. He completed a Surgical Oncology fellowship at UPMC and remained on faculty since 2006.
Dr. Holtzman is a member of professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Massachusetts Medical Society, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
